Salamina is not the most beautiful island and it may look somewhat dejected, but this Saronic Gulf island has a lot to offer in terms of history. It’s one of the most popular destinations for a day trip from Athens and a walk around the old, mostly abandoned neoclassic houses is definitely worthwhile.
