In today’s economic climate, eateries big and small are bending over backwards to come up with a point of difference that gives them a competitive edge. And when it comes to Melbourne society restaurants, Gimlet is no exception. In fact, the cult-favourite’s latest project is a cocktail bar in the city’s Flinders Lane called Apollo Inn, which opened last week.
Located in Odyseas Marina in Vathy, Gimlet Wine Bar is a great option for those looking to enjoy some fine wine and seafood. The restaurant offers outdoor seating, so you can take in the stunning view while eating. The menu includes grilled seafood and meat, as well as a variety of wines.

The staff here are also friendly and knowledgeable, and are happy to give you suggestions based on what you’re looking for.
The menu is simple, and you’ll find plenty of options to choose from. The old-school menu ticks off saganaki, souvlaki, and spanakopita, but you can also order the more exotic dishes such as lamb or goat intestines in lemon sauce. They also offer half portions if you’d prefer to sample several dishes.
This is a great place to go for breakfast, with live music playing throughout the day. Their avocado toast and eggs Benedict were fantastic, and the service was friendly and helpful.
It’s best to arrive early, as this is a popular spot to eat for brunch in Chania. It’s also a bit expensive to rent sunbeds here, so I would recommend taking your chances elsewhere on the beach. Otherwise, it’s a nice place to sit and watch the sunset. The food is great, but the atmosphere is a little off. I found the restaurant to be a bit too loud and smoky for my liking, but overall it was a good experience. I would definitely recommend it!
Tilevoes Restaurant

A superb choice for lunch or dinner is the restaurant called Tilevoes. This beautiful eatery is situated in Vathy, a picturesque fishing village. It is right by the sea and overlooks the colorful wooden boats of the peaceful harbor. It offers a wide variety of delicious Greek and Mediterranean dishes. The prices are very reasonable.
Apart from its gorgeous beaches, Meganisi is famous for its fjords and other spots of unique beauty. Its crystalline turquoise waters are set amid lush landscapes, with trees typically reaching the waterline. Besides, the island also houses several monasteries that date back centuries. Among them is the Agios Ioannis, a monastery at a beach of the same name.
The main village of Katomeri hosts Fanari, the island’s most renowned beach. Other fine choices for outings or swims include Roka, Limonari, Spilia, Atherinos, and Pasoumaki. Meganisi is a lovely summer destination for couples and families. Guests can choose from a wide variety of accommodation choices, including rooms for rent and villas.
